Apple has now announced that the company will announce its results for the third fiscal quarter of 2022 on Thursday, July 28. There will also be the usual conference call with CEO Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri.
The investor conference call, which usually takes place shortly after the release of Apple's financial results, will be held half an hour later. In the conference call, which will cover the investor website streamed, executives will discuss results for the three-month period ending June 2022. Side note: Apple's fiscal year begins October 1 and ends September 30.
Q3/2022: Apple opens the books on July 28th
Apple reported revenue of $97.28 billion for the second quarter ended March 2022, up from $89 billion in the second quarter of 2021. Gross margin for the quarter reached 43.7%, up from 42.5% in the year-ago quarter. Operating expenses rose from $10.6 billion in the second quarter of 2021 to $12.6 billion in the second quarter of 2022. Earnings per share are reported at $1.52. Apple did not provide guidance for the third quarter, which ends June 30, 2022. However, the company noted that it expects significant headwinds in the quarter, ranging from currency fluctuations to supply and manufacturing issues as a result of COVID.
