Apple seems to have a soft spot for Tesla employees. The reason for this could be the iCar.
Since the end of last year, Tesla employees have been moving to Apple in droves. These are mainly software developers and specialists from the supplier division. CNBC reported this in August, citing former employees and LinkedIN data. Apple is apparently not only interested in the Project Titan, but also more control over the manufacturing processes of their own products.
New addition to design?
It has now been announced that another Tesla employee has moved to Apple. Andrew Kim is considered an expert in vehicle interior design. He worked on the Model 3, S, X, Y and Roadster V2. He also worked in design at Microsoft. His LinkedIn profile and recent post on Instagram show that he has now moved his workplace to Apple.
It is not known what task he took on there. Could it be the Project Titan act?
What is Project Titan?
Little is known about the project. The development and construction of entire cars was Apple's original goal. In the course of research, this is said to have changed and the focus was placed on software development for autonomous driving. This was then to be incorporated into models from other manufacturers. The project itself was first documented in 2015.
At that time, Apple hired several specialists from the automotive industry – the foundation for the rumors surrounding the iCar was laid.
