Apple has informed developers that the company will soon raise prices on the App Store in several countries, including all countries that use the euro.
However, Europe is not the only place where prices will rise. Apple also points out that prices will rise in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden and Vietnam. The changes are set to come into effect on October 5, 2022 and include prices for apps and in-app purchases. The notice contains a section explaining the changes specifically for Vietnam.
price increases in the App Store
In Vietnam, these price increases also reflect new regulations requiring Apple to collect and remit taxes, namely value added tax (VAT) and corporate income tax (CIT), each at 51%.
When the price increase occurs, Apple will update the Pricing and Availability section in My Apps. Developers will then be able to change the price of their apps and in-app purchases as they see fit. Apple recently started contacting developers to encourage them to buy advertising space in the App Store, as an expansion of slots is imminent. (Photo by bigtunaonline / Bigstockphoto)
