Yes, it's true. Apple has entered into another partnership with Amazon that offers more convenience to Apple fans and Amazon Echo users.
Apple fans who enjoy listening to podcasts and have an Amazon Echo device can now ask Alexa to play a podcast from Apple's range. Support for this service is limited to the US, but other countries should follow soon - although no announcement has been made. To use the new feature, the Apple ID must be linked to the Alexa application - similar to using Apple Music with Alexa. Once the connection is established, Alexa can play a podcast from Apple's huge range on request.

The playback progress is automatically synchronized with the Apple Podcast app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. Amazon also offers the option of setting Apple's podcast as the default podcast provider for Alexa. Amazon is the first third-party client to have access to Apple's podcast. The service was previously only available on Apple devices. In addition to Apple, Spotify's podcast service is also supported by Alexa as of today, as Amazon announced. This also seems to be available only in the USA for the time being - it remains to be seen when other markets will be included. (Photo by jedo_foto / Bigstockphoto)
