Apple has introduced a new affiliate program tied to Apple Podcasts premium subscriptions that allows users to earn a commission when they refer subscriptions to a show.
The affiliate program pays a 50 percent commission to those who convince another user to subscribe to a podcast through a shareable link. This means that a $10 subscription will earn the affiliate a $5 commission. So writes Apple:
By linking to Apple Podcasts as an affiliate, you can earn a one-time payment of $50 on the first paid month of each subscription membership you refer during a 30-day cookie window. This payment scales globally based on the local market price and where the podcasts are available.
Premium subscription podcasting service launching soon
The initiative appears to be aimed at podcast creators, as Apple says it is a way to “maximize your income on Apple Podcasts.” However, the program is open to anyone who wants to sign up. Once approved, participants will receive a unique affiliate code that can be added to Apple Podcasts links. This code centralizes all revenue generated through the affiliate links, with payments made within 30 days. Interested users can register via this link to apply for the Apple Services Performance Partner program. Apple first introduced its premium subscription podcasting service in April. The platform will offer exclusive content as well as member benefits such as ad-free listening, early access and more. The service will launch soon. (Image: Apple)
