Customers of Deutsche Kreditbank AG will have been annoyed by technical problems yesterday. Online banking was temporarily unavailable - the reason was a targeted attack.
DKB customers had to temporarily online banking completely because they were unable to access the Deutsche Kreditbank AG website. Now it is clear why. The direct bank has commented on the disruption via Twitter. According to the statement, a hacker attack was the reason for the outage - but the all-clear has been given, no data was intercepted. The statement says:
On January 7, 2020, the DKB server service provider was subjected to an attack by a third party that affected the availability of our website and some of our services. The most important thing: There is currently no indication of data theft. All payments you have already made, such as standing orders, direct debits or scheduled transfers, will continue to be processed. Giro and credit cards can also be used as usual.

Accordingly, DKB customers can breathe a sigh of relief for the time being. Processes initiated also do not appear to be affected. However, the website is still said to be accessible to a limited extent. It continues:
Together with our server service provider, we immediately took countermeasures. We work closely with the relevant authorities. We regret that you are unable to access our website and internet banking at certain times. DKB is doing everything in its power to ensure that these services are fully available again as quickly as possible.
