Apple Arcade will celebrate its two-year anniversary next month. Apple announced the service in March 2019 and released it in September of the same year. A few weeks before the two-year anniversary, Apple Arcade has now reached the mark of 200 available games in its catalog, which includes original and classic titles.
As CNET now reported, Apple's gaming platform reached the 200-game mark on Friday after Super Stickman Golf 3 was added to the catalog. When Apple Arcade was released in 2019, there were about 100 exclusive titles available. But Apple has already promised that new games would be added every week. In addition to the exclusive games quit Apple announced two new game categories for Apple Arcade this year, namely “Timeless Classics” and “App Store Greats.” More than 30 classic games have been added to Apple Arcade since April, including titles like Monument Valley, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, and Angry Birds.
Apple Arcade does not have advertising or in-app purchases
This is a big move for Apple's gaming service, with a two-pronged approach. First, the large roster of remastered iOS classics is sure to be a hit with both users old enough to have played the originals and new users trying them out for the first time.
Apple Arcade allows users to download and play all the games available in the catalog without ads or in-app purchases. The service requires a subscription that costs €4.99 per month, but the service is also included in the Apple One bundle. Most titles can be played on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
