Apple’s brand new MacBook Air with M2 chip is available worldwide starting today.
Customers can purchase the new MacBook Air from both Apple and Apple Authorized Resellers. Apple advertises the device as follows:
Redesigned around the next-generation M2 chip, MacBook Air is ultra-thin and brings you incredible speed and power efficiency in a durable aluminum chassis. This ultra-fast and powerful laptop lets you work, play, and create without limits—anywhere.
The new MacBook Air design comes in silver, space gray, Polaris, and midnight. The previous teardrop wedge shape has been replaced with a simpler, flat-edged chassis. Just like the MacBook Pro 2021, the display has been moved closer to the edge with a notch. The Air is 11.3 mm thin, has a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID power button, and MagSafe for magnetically secure charging. Apple says the new MacBook Air can manage about 18 hours of continuous video playback on battery.
In a brand new design: The MacBook Air with M2 chip
The MacBook Air's screen has been increased to 13.6 inches thanks to slimmer bezels. There's a new 1080p webcam in the notch. The M2 chip is up to five times faster than the last-generation Intel MacBook Airs and up to 40% faster than 2020's M1 Air. It also has a brand new charger with two USB-C ports. The MacBook Air can charge the battery up to 50% in 30 minutes. The new device is a massive upgrade in every way - except for the price. The new Air starts at 1,499 euros and is therefore slightly more expensive than the previous generation. (Image: Apple)
