This evening, Apple somewhat surprisingly released a new firmware version for headphones with the W1 and H1 chips – that is, all AirPods and some Beats products.
Apple has now released new firmware for a range of headphones. This includes the AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods (second generation), Beats Solo Pro and Powerbeats 4. It is currently unknown what new features or changes have been made, as Apple has not provided an update description. We will therefore have to wait for the rollout - further details may be provided later. We list the firmware versions below:
- Beats Solo Pro – 4A394
- Powerbeats 4 – 4A394
- Powerbeats Pro – 4A394
- AirPods Pro – 4A400
- AirPods Max – 4A400
- AirPods (second generation) – 4A400
How to check the firmware version of your AirPods / Beats
If you want to know the current firmware version of your AirPods / Beats, all you have to do is connect the headphones to your iPhone and open the “General” section in the iOS settings. You can select the AirPods / Beats under “Info”. The earphones are usually updated automatically as soon as they are connected to a device and in use. However, the process can be delayed. In some cases, however, the update can also be forced immediately. To do this, connect the AirPods / Beats to a power source and pair them with an iPhone or iPad. The update could then start immediately. However, there is no guarantee. Do you want new headphones?
