Nomad has introduced a new charging station – the Nomad Base One, a new MagSafe charger that is attached to a piece of metal and glass and stays in place thanks to its heavy weight.
Nomad today introduced its first official MagSafe wireless charger, the Base One. For a long time, Belkin was the only official supplier of MagSafe chargers. But that's changing now that third-party accessory makers are able to obtain Made for iPhone-certified hardware from Apple (MFi certification). The Base One uses original MagSafe components sourced directly from Apple and can therefore charge a MagSafe-compatible iPhone at up to 15W (except for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini, which max out at 12W).

Nomad Base One: MagSafe charger with heavy weight
Magnetic charging options that are not compatible with MagSafe are limited to 7.5W, like any other Qi charger.
The highlights at a glance:
- Officially MFi certified MagSafe with 15W wireless fast charging
- Power supply via USB-C (nylon braided cable included)
- 30W power adapter required (sold separately)
- Made entirely of metal and glass in carbide grey or silver
- Solid construction with a weight of 515 grams
- Price: $129.95

The Base One features a glass and aluminum design, a heavy-duty casing, and much more. A hands-on review will follow in the coming days. If you can't wait, you can purchase the charging station from Nomad's online shop starting today. (Image: Nomad)
