Yesterday evening, Apple made the release candidate versions of all its operating systems available to registered developers. These are to be rolled out to all users next week. Now, before the official rollout, the company has released the first beta of macOS Big Sur 11.4 (Build: 20F5046g) for developers. The update can be performed over-the-air in the system settings under Software Update. Alternatively, the update can also be done via the Developer Center take place.
macOS 11.3 will be released next week
It is not currently known what new features the update includes. If there are any discoveries worth mentioning, we will report on them separately as always. macOS Big Sur 11.3 will be released to all users next week. The update offers new sorting options in reminders, the ability to set audio output to stereo HomePods as default, and support for the latest Xbox/PlayStation controllers, autoplay in Apple Music, and more.
Beta note:
As usual, a preview should not be installed on an actively used device, as these are usually quite unstable and error-prone - we recommend a second device for this. (Photo by Unsplash / Sigmund)
