Rumours say that Apple is working on a new version of the iMac. The market launch could come sooner than originally expected. Now clues have been discovered in the code of macOS Big Sur 11.3. reported the US blog 9to5Mac, according to which two new iMac models appear in the code. They are referred to as "iMac21,1" and "iMac21,2". The new devices use the code names J456 and J457. Interestingly, the names were already revealed by Bloomberg at the beginning of the year. If rumors are to be believed, Apple will present both the smaller and larger iMac in a brand new design.
Will new iMac models be released sooner than expected?
The housing is said to be inspired by the Pro Display XDR. Instead of a curved back, the new iMac models will have a flat back and at least one of the new models will be 23 to 24 inches in size. The devices will have a new Apple Silicon processor and thus offer significantly more power. In terms of the timing of the market launch, reports have so far indicated that the devices could appear in the second half of the year.
