It's now official. Apple has finally revealed when we can expect the iPadOS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura updates for iPad and Mac respectively. According to Apple's website, both software updates will arrive in October.
Although this news is not a surprise as we already assumed it, it is the first time that Apple has officially confirmed it (1& 2). What is not yet known is when Apple will hold its second fall event, where it will likely unveil the next generation of iPad and Mac models. Once that information is known, we can start to imagine the specific launch date of macOS 13 Ventura and iPadOS 16.
macOS 13 Ventura & iPadOS 16: Apple confirms launch in October
Apple announced macOS 13 Ventura and iPadOS 16 in June, as well as the recently released iOS 16, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 updates for iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Of the two software updates coming in October, iPadOS 16 is perhaps the most important. It offers enhanced Live Text and Family Sharing features and major improvements to Photos, Mail, Messages and News. For Apple Silicon iPads, there is also Stage Manager, which offers a new way of organizing and accessing apps. (Photo by Unsplash / Jeremy Bezanger)
