A hacker group called REvil is currently trying to extort around $50 million from Apple supplier Quanta. The group claims to have thousands of leaked files containing information about upcoming Apple products.
Well reported the US blog 9to5mac, according to which the already published files confirm some features that were previously promised. The documents contain technical specifications for the upcoming Apple Silicon MacBook Pro. These details confirm earlier reports that the new MacBook Pro will have MagSafe, HDMI and an SD card slot. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo already stated in January that the new MacBook Pro generation will have I/O ports such as HDMI and an SD card slot as well as MagSafe. The latest leaks confirm his information.
MacBook Pro 2021: Documents confirm ports
The documents in question refer to devices codenamed "J314" and "J316," dated March 2021 for the "Engineering Validation Test" prototype stage. As Bloomberg reported in January, these codenames stand for the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. Based on the motherboard schematics for the 16-inch model, the specifications confirm the existence of an HDMI port, an SD card, and a MagSafe port for charging. REvil” has already threatenedto release new data every day until the ransom is paid. The currently released documents are deeply technical, including voltage specifications and other details, so product images or design schematics may yet follow. (Photo by D_Zheleva / Bigstockphoto)
