It was to be expected. After months of speculation, Apple has finally presented the MacBook Pro 2021 series. It promises not only more performance but also better battery life.
The new MacBook Pro models are available in 14- and 16-inch sizes. They feature a brand new design, a much better display and a lot of power. But what about battery life? The new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro devices are available with either the new M1 Pro or M1 Max Apple Silicon chips, which are said to offer the best performance yet from the company's portable devices. The combination of M1 Pro/Max and macOS offers higher CPU performance than 8-core PC notebooks while consuming 70% less power. But what exactly does that mean?
MacBook Pro 2021: Battery life in comparison
Apple states in the data sheet that the 16-inch model allows 21 hours of video playback, while the smaller version "only" has 17 hours of video playback. They also have a quick-charge function. This means that the battery should be around 50 percent within 30 minutes. If you compare the figures with the Intel predecessors, the new 16-inch model offers around 10 hours longer video playback, while the smaller device offers around 7 hours more runtime. That's a huge increase. How long the battery life will ultimately last under real conditions remains to be seen. But the bottom line is that the devices should have a lot more to offer than their predecessors or direct competitors. Anyone interested in one of the models can order the devices from Apple starting today. pre-orderDepending on the equipment and model, costs range from 2,249 to 6,839 euros. (Image: Apple)
