In June, after numerous complaints, Apple acknowledged the problem with the butterfly keyboard on MacBooks from 2015 – 2017 and promised a free repair.
Each key has a silicone protector. This is responsible for reducing typing noise and preventing dust and crumbs from getting inside. The new third-generation butterfly keyboard should make users happy and prevent them from repeating the mistakes of its predecessors, according to Apple's plan. Now there are increasing reports that the new keyboard is also not free of errors.
Among those affected are two well-known tech bloggers: Stephan Hackett and John Gruber. While Hackett has to struggle with a double-hitting space bar, Gruber has to do without the letter "S" altogether.
Initially, these were so-called isolated cases, but now a number of complaints have accumulated, so that they can no longer be called isolated cases.
The previous models also had to deal with broken keys, among other things. However, there is an exchange program for these.
Now the question remains, will the current 2018 MacBook Pro also be included in the program?
