Apple has been delivering MacBook devices in “space gray” since 2015. Now some users are complaining about an optical problem.
The French website Mac generation reports that the casing coating is wearing off. According to the report, there are users who have noticed the paint wearing off. The wear is on the left and right of the trackpad - this is where the palms of the hands are usually placed. The sliding movements are probably wearing off the paint - and the original silver coating is revealed.
In addition, it is reported that Apple strictly refuses to exchange devices due to discoloration of the casing. It remains to be seen whether this will change in the foreseeable future. Those affected will have to accept this problem until further notice.
We haven't been able to detect this problem on any of our own devices. Are you affected? Let us know in the comments.
