The Mac mini was first introduced in 2005 and was last updated by Apple in 2014. After numerous rumors and leaks, it is less surprising that Apple has finally updated the device.
Not much has changed on the outside, but the professional device shines on the inside. Four processor cores are now standard. However, Apple offers the option of purchasing the device with six cores. The Mac mini can also be equipped with up to 64 GB of RAM.
The CPU performance of the various versions is said to be impressive - even that of the entry-level model. In the benchmark test, the top model achieved 5500 to 5900 points in the single-core range and 23516 to 26619 points in the multi-core range. The entry-level version of the Mac mini also shone.
The single-core test was completed with 4700 points. In the multi-core area, the small desktop Mac was able to score a whopping 14000 points.
The basic model offers a 3.6 GHz quad-core i3 processor of the 8th generation, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory. The variant is priced at 899 euros. The Mac mini can also be pre-ordered now. Delivery starts on November 7th.
