There are currently increasing reports that users of M1 Mac devices are having problems downloading iOS apps from the Mac App Store.
With the introduction of Apple Silicon, Cupertino has brought support for iOS and iPadOS apps to the Mac. However, this requires that developers specifically release their applications for this purpose. In the meantime, there was a sideloading method, but this was stopped by Apple. Be that as it may. If an iOS app is officially released by the developer, users can download it on an M1 Mac via the Mac App Store. But there currently seem to be problems here, as reported on Reddit reported When you try to download it quickly becomes clear – it doesn’t work.
M1 Mac & iOS apps: The cause of the error is currently unknown
The respective app cannot be downloaded - no error message is displayed. Several other users have confirmed the same problem in this Reddit thread, including one who reported the problem to Apple Support. According to this user, Apple Support was not informed of the problem, which is why it will now take around three days to process the ticket. Various videos show that clicking on the download button only triggers the animation but the download itself does not occur. Interestingly, however, not all users are affected. What triggers the problem is currently unknown. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
