Apple held the "Peek Performance" event earlier last week and introduced the iPhone SE 3, a green iPhone 13, iPad Air 5, Mac Studio and Studio Display. Now the new devices are officially available.
Apple hasn't changed much with the new iPhone SE, but that's the point of the product. This budget-friendly iPhone is aimed at consumers who want the cheapest iPhone possible while still wanting to buy a new device. Even though it's a new smartphone, it retains the same external design as the iPhone 8, which was released in 2017. This design is a selling point for some because it includes the classic Touch ID home button. The external design hasn't changed either. The third-generation iPhone SE has the same aluminum-glass design with rounded edges and a large chin. The 12MP single camera on the back uses the same components as before, but is more powerful thanks to the faster image signal processor in the A15 Bionic.
iPhone SE 3: Colors, storage variants and prices
The device can now be officially pre-ordered. It is available in the colors midnight, polar star and red (PRODUCT RED) and can be purchased in the storage variants 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. The device starts at 519 euros and can cost up to 689 euros depending on the variant. In addition to the entry-level model, the iPhone 13 (Pro) can now also be purchased in alpine green.
New mid-range tablet with great performance
The fifth-generation iPad Air, unveiled at Apple's Peek Performance event on Tuesday, features an Apple Silicon M1 chipset that includes an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, and Neural Engine cores. Apple says the new device is faster than its fastest competitor -- and twice as fast as the best-selling Windows laptop in the same price range. As for connectivity, the new iPad Air model also offers 5G connectivity, eSIM support, and WiFi 6. It's available in both cellular and non-cellular models. Additionally, the fifth-generation iPad Air now features an improved 12-megapixel front-facing camera and support for Apple's Center Stage. Additionally, it supports the second-generation Apple Pencil and has an improved USB-C port that enables data transfers that are twice as fast as the previous generation.
iPad Air 5: Colors, storage options and prices
The device can now be officially pre-ordered. It is available in space gray, rose, violet, blue and polar star and can be purchased with 64 GB and 256 GB storage options. Of course, the new tablet can be selected as a pure WiFi model or with cellular support. The iPad Air 5 starts at 679 euros and can cost up to 1,019 euros depending on the variant.
Mac Studio
In the Mac area, two new products were introduced. The Mac Studio represents a new category between the Mac mini and the Mac Pro. Its design is based on that of the Mac mini, but is taller to support the more powerful hardware and has a better cooling system. As standard, the Mac Studio already comes with the M1 Max chip, which is also found in the high-end models of the MacBook Pro 2021. With a more expensive option, users can equip the Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra chip - a new chip that combines two M1 Max chips working together. The Mac Studio is now available for 2,299 euros. Depending on the configuration, the device can cost up to 9,199 euros.
Studio Display
Alongside the brand new Mac Studio, Apple also announced a new external display, the Apple Studio Display. The Studio Display measures 27-inches diagonally and has a 5K resolution. You can also get a nano-texture display option to minimize glare. The Studio Display is equipped with an A13 chip, which provides deep integration and many features, including powering the speaker system and a Center Stage-capable webcam. The Studio Display has an all-aluminum chassis with thin bezels and an integrated stand that tilts up to 30 degrees. The price of the Studio Display starts at 1,749 euros, but interested buyers can configure it in two different options that increase the price up to 2,459 euros. Apple offers a nano-texture glass option for an additional 250 euros. You can also choose a “tilt and height adjustable stand” – to the Apple Online Store. (Image: Apple)
