As expected, Apple has introduced a new service. The service will be integrated into Apple News and is called Apple News Plus.
Apple News Plus includes over 300 magazines and selected newspapers. The magazines have "Live Covers" and include the "For You" section - a feature known from Apple Music. The service will be available in the US and Canada starting today with the new iOS and macOS software update - the supported languages are English and French.
Family Sharing at no additional cost
The premium news service costs $9.99 per month, with the first month free.
The price includes family sharing, so the subscription covers up to six family members at no additional cost. The service is available directly through the News app and offers magazines from National Geographic, Popular Science, New Yorker, Vogue, Rolling Stone and more. According to Apple, there are over 5 billion articles read on Apple News each month, making it the number one news app in the world.
Apple News Plus will also include content from the Los Angeles Times newspaper, the Wall Street Journal and some online news sites such as TechCrunch. It remains unknown when the service will be available in this country.
