The iPhone Xr has a 6.1” screen – this is not OLED but an almost frameless LCD with a notch.
The frame of the inexpensive entry-level model is made of aluminum. This is said to be of aerospace quality - according to Apple. It has some features that the iPhone Xs series also has, but there are a few differences. For example, Apple has only given the iPhone Xr one camera lens - and this has now been put to the test.
The camera experts from DxOMark have extensively tested the photo and video quality of the iPhone Xr - the result is astonishing. According to them, the camera of the iPhone Xr is currently the best among the devices with only one lens that have been tested so far. According to the specialists, the quality of the photos can certainly be compared to that of the iPhone Xs Max. The exposure and contrast range in particular are said to be impressive - whether indoors or outdoors.
DxOMark According to the report, the colors, the representation of details, the noise behavior and the exposure are hardly different from the iPhone Xs Max. The iPhone Xr receives the most criticism for the graininess when taking pictures indoors in poor lighting conditions.
In the end, the iPhone Xr's camera shines with 103 points. Overall, there are 96 points for photo quality and 101 points for video quality. For comparison: The iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 scored a few points less in the same test.
