If your iPhone is running low on storage space and you use WhatsApp, the videos, voice messages and photos stored in the app may be taking up a lot of storage space. Storage management within the messenger is now set to be made easier.
WhatsApp is introducing a new and improved way to manage storage within the app to help users find, select and delete GIFs, photos and videos at once. The new tool groups large files and media that have been shared multiple times, sorts the files in descending order of size and provides a way to preview the files before deleting them. Users can also preview the media before selecting one or more files to delete.
WhatsApp update coming soon
The new storage management option is set to be rolled out worldwide this week - according to the Facebook subsidiary. iPhone users can go to the Data and Storage Usage section in the WhatsApp settings and then tap Manage Storage. The new feature will be found there. In addition to the storage management extension, another feature called "Expiring Messages" is also expected. If the function is activated, sent messages will disappear after around seven days - you can find out more about this below. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now.
