If manufacturers want to bring new devices onto the market, they must first register them with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The EEC database records all devices that are based on encryption technologies - which means that almost all of Apple's hardware products appear in it at some point. AppleInsider is now reporting on around 54 new additions registered with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). These include numerous iPhone models and Apple Watch devices. Mac models have also been added to the list.
entries under iOS 13
Overall, the entries were stored in three categories - iOS 13, watchOS 6 and macOS 10.15 Catalina. The list under iOS 13 includes 31 devices with the model numbers A1574, A2178, A1687, A1688, A1778, A1784, A1863, A1864, A1865, A1897, A1901, A1905, A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2101, A2105, A2111, A2160, A2161, A2215, A2216, A2217, A2218, A2219, A2220, A2221, A2223, A2296 and A2298. Since entries for new iPads have already appeared in June and iPadOS was specified as the operating system, these must be new iPhone models. It is important to note that each device must be registered in all variants (country-specific versions) - this means that we will not see 31 completely different iPhone models - but the number is still impressive.
Entries under watchOS 6
The watchOS 6 category has the second largest list in today's entry. Apple has registered a total of 12 Apple Watch models here. These have the model numbers A1975, A1976, A2007, A2008, A2156, A2157, A1858, A1859, A1977, A1978, A2092 and A2093. It cannot be said for sure whether this is the Apple Watch Series 5 or just an updated Apple Watch Series 4 is on the way.
Entries under macOS 10.15 Catalina
The list of Macs was the "smallest". Apple has only registered eleven previously unknown Mac devices. Whether these are MacBooks or desktop models remains unclear for the time being. The model numbers are A1466, A1932, A1989, A1990, A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182 and A2251. A presentation of new Mac and iPad models will most likely take place in October. The presentation of the new iPhone generation and new Apple Watch models will probably take place on September 10th. (Photo by Hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
