Netflix seems to have started rolling out support for Spatial Audio on the iPhone and iPad.
As several users on Reddit report, Netflix has started rolling out Spatial Audio for iPhone and iPad. In the meantime, a Netflix spokesperson has also revealed the whole thing to 9to5mac confirmedWhen playing compatible content in Netflix, Spatial Audio will be available as an option in Control Center on iPhone and iPad for those using iOS 14 and iOS 15. Watching Netflix content with Spatial Audio requires AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
iPhone & iPad: Spatial Audio in Netflix is slowly being rolled out
Spatial Audio will not be available to all users immediately as it is still in the process of being released. Individual users will therefore have to be patient. According to the company, the feature will be rolled out slowly starting with version 14.2.0. Spatial Audio is available for music and video content and is designed to create an immersive audio experience by using directional filters to make the sound appear to be coming from multiple directions at once. Apple says that Spatial Audio creates a cinematic experience that uses the gyroscope and accelerometer in the iPhone, iPad and compatible Apple headphones. Don't have AirPods Pro or AirPods Max yet?
