According to Apple's announcement last week, customers will initially order parts and tools through the new "Self Service Repair" store, which will go live in the coming months. After the repair is complete, customers can return "core" parts or used components for recycling and receive credit. This strategy is already being used by Apple's authorized repair shops. The internal memo also notes that repair instructions will be made available through the Apple Support website. Customers are instructed to consult the repair manuals and related documentation before ordering parts or performing a self-service repair.
