Under the name “Loop Disease“(“loop disease”) is a problem with the audio chip of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It could actually be a serial problem.
The first symptoms can be greyed out icons for hands-free functions and irregular freezing of the device. If you try to fix the error by restarting, the iPhone freezes during the boot process. The IT blog Motherboard reported on the problem back in June. So it's not new - but more and more people are reporting it. The audio chip built into the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is said to be detaching from the motherboard over time. According to reports, repair services can fix the problem, but it's not cheap. Reconnecting the audio chip is said to cost up to $150.
Apple told the blog that it was aware of the problem, but that only a small number of people were affected.
