At the end of January, Apple announced that it wanted to reduce the prices of the current iPhone generation. Now the company has revised its offer.
Apple's aggressive advertising campaigns since the beginning of December already indicated a sales crisis - this was finally confirmed when the last quarterly figures were published. The reason for this is currency fluctuations - according to Cook, prices were too closely aligned with the US dollar, so an adjustment was made in other countries outside the USA.
Cheap iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max under one condition
However, the price reduction is subject to a condition. In order to get one of the current models cheaper, an old iPhone must be handed in. This means that an iPhone Xr is available from just 580 euros. The starting price for an iPhone Xs is therefore 880 euros. The discount is not new - previously the promotion was advertised with the addition "for a limited time". This has now been removed and the promotion is valid permanently. All iPhones from the 6th generation onwards are eligible for trade-in. The discount depends on the condition and age of the old device. Depending on the device generation, the offer could actually pay off - but a price comparison with third-party providers should not be omitted. It remains to be seen whether this will increase sales.
