Apple will release an update to iOS 16 to fix an issue with the iPhone 14 Pro cameras that causes them to blur when the user tries to use a third-party camera app.
Over the weekend, there was a problem with the cameras of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max reported, where third-party apps produce blurry and shaky images. Apple now says the company plans to fix the problem. In a Tweet by Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) Apple said it has identified an issue in the Pro models and that a "software update will be released next week." Apple acknowledged that third-party apps that use the camera are also affected. When using some third-party apps, including Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, some users noticed that the camera module began to shake when recording videos.
iPhone 14 Pro: Update to fix camera problems
The problem manifested itself in the hardware, with visible movements and audible motors alerting users that something was wrong with their smartphones. Since the standard camera app was not affected by the problem, it seems that the shaking can be solved through software, or at least through a change that affects all apps that use the camera module and not just those from Apple itself. While there is no official explanation for the shaking, the vibrations and motor noises suggest that it could have something to do with the built-in optical image stabilization systems. For the new 48-megapixel main camera, Apple uses a second-generation Sensor Shift OIS that shifts the sensor inside the camera bump. (Image: Apple)
