India’s Consumer Affairs Authority may have shared important information about the upcoming iPhone 14 ahead of Apple’s September 7 event.
The possible model number of the next iPhone has been discovered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database as the Cupertino company prepares to launch the new generation. As MySmartPrice found out , the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) lists a new iPhone model number even before the announcement of a new iPhone. The National Standards Body of India, which comes under the Department of Consumer Affairs, currently lists the iPhone XR (A2105), iPhone 11 (A2221), iPhone 12 (A2403), and iPhone 13 (A2633). Now, a new model number A2882 has surfaced, which could represent the upcoming iPhone 14 series. This all makes sense, as Apple is reportedly producing the iPhone 14 in India and China simultaneously. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested this in an article earlier this month:
iPhone 14: Expectations for the Pro models are high
My latest survey suggests that Foxconn’s iPhone manufacturing facility in India will ship the new 6.1-inch iPhone 14 for the first time in 2H22, almost simultaneously with China (in the past, India was a quarter or more behind).
In the short term, India's iPhone capacity and shipments still lag considerably behind China. But it is a major milestone for Apple in setting up a non-Chinese iPhone manufacturing facility. It suggests that Apple is trying to reduce the geopolitical impact on supply and sees the Indian market as the next key growth driver." While the regular iPhone 14 is rumored not to have many new features compared to the iPhone 13 - as it will retain the same design and processor - Apple is preparing a Max version with a larger screen and battery but at a cheaper price. At the same time, all the new features are expected to be integrated into the iPhone 14 Pro versions with a new design, new processor and improved cameras. (Photo by Irina3432 / Bigstockphoto)
