Apple today announced a new yellow color variant for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. This is the usual color refresh for the iPhone lineup in spring. No new color was announced for the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro series.
The yellow version can be ordered starting this Friday, with the first units shipping on March 14. Apple also refreshed its accessories lineup today, so you can complement the new yellow iPhone with a new, spring-themed iPhone case. As you'd expect, the yellow iPhone 14 has yellow aluminum sides and a yellow glass back.

Yellow joins the existing color options of midnight, red, blue and purple. Apart from the yellow color, the phone remains otherwise unchanged. In the press release Apple says:
Apple today announced a new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, expanding the color palette with more options this spring. Beautifully designed and built to last, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature a tough Ceramic Shield front cover, an updated internal design for better long-term performance and easier repairs, and amazing battery life—the iPhone 14 Plus offers the longest battery life of any iPhone. Both models feature a dual-camera system for stunning photos and videos, the powerful A15 Bionic chip, and innovative safety features like Emergency SOS via satellite and crash detection.
iPhone 14: The top features in focus
As a reminder, the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch OLED display, while the 14 Plus is slightly larger at 6.7 inches. The phones are powered by the A15 chip, which was first introduced in the iPhone 13 Pro. New features include super stabilization in Action mode for video recording and the new Cinematic mode with fake bokeh effect for videos. The iPhone 14 also has the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature, which allows the owner to contact emergency services even when they are outside of normal cellular and WiFi coverage. Emergency SOS via Satellite is currently free for two years; Apple has not yet announced pricing. Emergency SOS via Satellite is currently available in the US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and Ireland.

At the same time as announcing the yellow iPhone 14, Apple announced that the satellite connection will be introduced in Austria, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal in March. In addition to the new iPhone color, four brand new silicone cases were introduced in canary yellow, olive, sky and iris, which are now available for all four iPhone 14 models. (Image: Apple)
