As part of the announced new environmental efforts, Apple will reduce the material used in the packaging of the iPhone 13 by completely removing the outer plastic film that normally encloses the device in the box.
Apple's new packaging process was apparently revealed before the devices were delivered via an image that leaker "DuanRui" recently shared on Twitter posted has. The photo shows an iPhone 13 box sealed with a sticker that has a pull tab built into it to secure the contents. It looks like the protective sticker is attached to the inside of the top of the box and the outside of the bottom of the box. This solution ensures that the box remains securely closed during transport and also acts as a tamper-evident seal. Apple has been using a similar system for years on its own accessories. According to Apple, eliminating plastic packaging will prevent 600 tons of waste, presumably over the entire lifetime of the device.

Apple makes iPhone 13 more environmentally friendly
The company has already committed to completely removing plastic from its packaging by 2025. The Cupertino-based company highlights other environmentally friendly aspects of the iPhone 13 on its website. For example, the device uses 100% recycled rare earths in the magnets, 100% recycled tin in the solder material of the motherboard and battery management unit, 100% recycled gold in the plating of the motherboard and camera cable, and recycled plastic water bottles for the dielectric material that makes up the iPhone's antenna lines. pre-orders for the new iPhone 13 series have been available since yesterday. The first devices will be delivered on September 24th. (Image: Apple)
