The entire iPhone 13 lineup features a slightly smaller notch, providing more space for displaying content. While many customers were hoping that a smaller notch would result in Apple displaying the battery percentage in the status bar, that doesn't seem to be the case, at least at this point.
Like on Twitter noticed , the Xcode 13 simulator for the iPhone 13 Pro Max shows the status bar without the battery percentage, although there is enough room to move the signal and WiFi bars to the left. The simulator in the release candidate of Xcode 13, released after yesterday's event, does not show battery percentage, but Apple could offer it as an option in Settings.
iPhone 13 battery percentage: We'll know more next week
It is unlikely that Apple will display the battery percentage in the status bar by default without users being able to turn it off. For older iPhones that do not have a notch, Apple offers an option in the settings that allows the percentage to be turned on or off. The iPhone 13 could therefore follow this example. However, this option is not shown in the marketing images of the iPhone 13 and the updated iOS 15. But that does not necessarily mean anything. Since Apple itself does not want to reveal the secret, we will have to be patient a little longer. The new iPhone models can be ordered from Friday pre-ordered Before delivery begins on September 24th, the embargo on initial test reports will be lifted - at the latest then we will have certainty.
