On Friday, I reported that the "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature on the iPhone 13 doesn't work in most cases. Now Apple has spoken out and promised a solution.
While some of you have no problem with the function in connection with the iPhone 13, others report that the feature cannot be activated. I don't actually use it myself, but I can also confirmthat it doesn't work for me. In fact, I can't activate it. Whatever. Now Apple has confirmed the problem and promised a patch. The company has published a separate support document on this published. It states:
“Unlock with Apple Watch”: iOS 15.0.1 coming soon
Apple has identified an issue where unlocking with Apple Watch doesn't work on iPhone 13 devices. If you try to unlock your iPhone while wearing a face mask, you may see a "Cannot connect to Apple Watch" message or you may not be able to enable the feature at all. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming software update.
The company recommends that iPhone 13 users disable the "Unlock with Apple Watch" feature and use their passcode to unlock the phone instead. It is currently unknown when the update will be released. However, it is expected that Apple will release iOS 15.0.1 shortly and fix some bugs with it. As soon as this is the case, I will of course report on it. (Photo by BackyardProductions / Bigstockphoto)
