In addition to a new design, the iPhone 12 series also received numerous new features, including 5G support. But some devices seem to have battery problems.
The iPhone 12 series has various new functions, including 5G. If you activate the feature, you have to expect higher battery consumption - Apple has already explained this. So if you want more battery life, you should switch to LTE, right? Well, apparently this does not apply to every user. There are now increasing reports that iPhone 12 models are draining quickly in standby mode. The phenomenon can also be observed when 5G support has been completely deactivated. Even with an active WiFi connection, the battery life seems to quickly run out. Some users report that they have already tried various settings, including the energy saving mode. The result is 20 - 40 percent battery loss overnight. So writes a user in Apple's support forum:
iPhone 12 battery problems: Is a software update the solution?
I spoke to Apple support today and they ran a diagnostic and found that everything is fine. I imagine this means there is a software issue that is draining the battery - hopefully this will be fixed soon. It is not normal for all apps to be closed, background activity disabled, Bluetooth turned off and 40% of charge to be lost overnight. To illustrate, here is my overnight battery view.

Complaints are also being documented on Reddit and other forums - we have also already been able to verify the problem. The number of people affected seems to be higher than expected. It is suspected that this is a software-related problem. Apple itself has not yet commented on the matter. However, it can be assumed that the company will present a solution via an iOS update.
