The Japanese blog Macotakara has pointed out a brand new accessory pointed outthat was introduced specifically for the iPhone 12 series and is intended to compete with Apple's unreleased charging mat. The Japanese accessory manufacturer MPOW has presented a product that has magnets. The description states:
"MPOW JAPAN announces a wireless charger that supports the function of adjusting the charging position using a magnet. This is a new wireless charging mechanism installed in the new iPhone."
The company goes on to describe the product as having a "ring-shaped magnetic mechanism" that matches a similar mechanism in the new iPhone and allows the charger to firmly attach to the device. This allows for better charging performance than traditional wireless chargers, which can change their sweet spot over time.

The company also points out that the product is "intended for use with new iPhones and is not compatible with other smartphones." The product announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, especially since Apple has yet to confirm the iPhone 12 series. At the same time, Apple is also expected to introduce two brand new products called "MagSafe Charger" and "MagSafe Duo Charger." Both are said to be adapted to the iPhone 12 and also have a magnetic charging mechanism. According to a leaker, the technology is based on Apple's well-known MagSafe technology.
