The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max have been officially available in stores since yesterday. Now both devices have been disassembled - this is what it looks like inside.
The new Mini and Max models of the new smartphone generation have been delivered since yesterday. To go with this, the first teardowns have been released. The German repair company Kaputt has published the first teardowns of both models on YouTube, revealing only a few major differences - but some interesting features - about the internal design and components of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. As can be seen in the teardown, the iPhone 12 Pro Max retains an L-shaped battery design. This is something that Apple changed on the other three models. As for the rest of the internals, it seems to be pretty consistent with the iPhone 12 Pro, which iFixit disassembled in late October.

iPhone 12: Apple had to make compromises
The same is true of the iPhone 12 mini, whose internal configuration is largely the same as the iPhone 12. The biggest twist when disassembling this device is that the iPhone 12 mini uses a much smaller battery due to its size. While the clips provide a glimpse inside, details about the components are not discussed. The teardowns of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have shown that Apple made many compromises to integrate 5G compatibility into its 2020 devices, including on the battery and logic board. They also foundthat the iPhone 12 camera modules cannot be replaced or repaired by third-party technicians. You can find both videos below. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now.
