Apple recently introduced new iPad Pro models. However, the new generation is not a brand new device – as iFixit now reports.
Basically, it was only a matter of time before iFixit took apart the new iPad Pro 2020. Now the time has come. The repair professionals uploaded a video today in which they show the new professional tablet from the inside. Here, iFixit immediately notes that most of the components in the iPad Pro 2020 are identical to those in the iPad Pro 2018. This means that the new tablet is a relatively incremental update - according to the repair experts. The only notable innovation is the camera module with LiDAR scanner, which significantly enhances the augmented reality experience.
Repairability: poor
Of course, the A12Z Bionic chip was not left out. This now has eight cores and an improved thermal architecture. Nothing has changed in the USB-C port either. Overall, iFixit gives the iPad Pro 2020 three out of a possible ten points in terms of repairability, as the device is basically the same as its predecessor and therefore also has a miserable repairability.
