Instagram today introduced a new feature within the iOS application. The company wants to make it easier for users to manage links to third-party services in the future.
A link between your own Instagram account and a third-party service can be created quickly. But users often lose track. Which services have I linked my Instagram account to? How do I check and terminate this connection? Some kind of management tool would often be helpful - Instagram knows this. The Facebook company is planning to offer its users a new way to closely check the data shared with third-party applications. For this reason, a new option has been introduced in the iOS app that allows just that. advance: The feature is of course of interest to users who actually establish such links. When such a connection has been established between Instagram and a third-party service, the following messages usually appear:Import photos from Instagram" or "connect/link with Instagram“. Such services usually gain access to profile information and photos. However, as described above, managing these individual connections has not been easy until now.
Apps & Websites
The new feature is called Apps & Websites and is available in the Instagram iOS application under Settings in the Security section. All active connections are displayed here and can be terminated directly. As part of this innovation, an authorization screen is also integrated. This is intended to make it clear to the user which data the respective service wants to access. This is what it says on the official Instagram blog page:
“To ensure you are aware of what specific data third parties are requesting from you, we are also introducing an updated authorization screen that lists all the information the third party is requesting. You will have the option to revoke this access directly from the authorization screen cancel or to authorize„.
According to the company, these changes will be phased in starting today over the next six months. You can find more news about Instagram below. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
