Apple has released the third beta version of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, tvOS 18.4, watchOS 11.4, macOS 15.4 and visionOS 2.4 for developers. These updates are part of the continuous development of Apple's operating systems and bring new features and optimizations.
While some of the most important new features have already been introduced with the first two beta versions, it remains to be seen what other changes the third beta will bring. We will cover the detailed new features of this beta version in a separate article.
Review: The changes so far in iOS 18.4
The first beta of iOS 18.4 already included a number of exciting new features. These include:
- Apple News+ Food: A new section in Apple News+ with tens of thousands of recipes from renowned publishers.
- Priority notifications: Important messages are visually highlighted so they are immediately recognizable.
- Image Playground with Sketch Style: A new style option for hand-drawn images.
- Apple Intelligence in ten new languages: including German, French, Spanish and more.
- New default apps: Users can set a default translation app worldwide and an alternative navigation app in the EU.
- CarPlay update: A visual adjustment with a third app row for compatible vehicles.
- New music modes: Four new options in Control Center: Chill, Productivity, Sleep and Wellbeing.
- Revised Mail app: The new Mail app introduced with iOS 18.2 is now also available for iPad and Mac.

visionOS 2.4: Apple Intelligence and new features for Vision Pro
VisionOS 2.4 also brings some exciting new features for the Apple Vision Pro. The highlights include:
- Apple Intelligence for Vision Pro: AI-powered writing tools, smart replies, and image generation are now integrated.
- Spatial Gallery: A collection of curated 3D content featuring exclusive experiences from Cirque du Soleil, Red Bull and Apple Originals.
- Apple Vision Pro app for iPhone: A new app for managing Vision Pro content directly from your smartphone.
- Optimized guest functionality: Better management for shared use with saved settings for up to 30 days.

What does the third beta of iOS 18.4 and Co. bring?
At this point, it is not yet known what specific changes Apple has introduced with the third beta version. Experience has shown that each new beta brings minor improvements, bug fixes and possibly additional features.

Test the beta now
The third beta of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, tvOS 18.4, watchOS 11.4, macOS 15.4 and visionOS 2.4 is available to developers through the Apple Developer Program. A public beta version for participants in the Apple Beta Program is expected to follow in the next few days. Anyone who wants to get an early idea of the new features can register via the Apple Register for the beta program and test the update on compatible devices – we strongly recommend using a second device!
iOS 18.4 Beta 3 released – further optimizations expected
Apple continues to work on optimizing its operating systems and is releasing another test version with the third beta of iOS 18.4 and the other systems.
