Apple officially introduced iOS 16 at this year's WWDC keynote and shortly thereafter rolled out the first beta of the software for developers. The company announced that the beta would be released to public testers in July, but did not give a specific date. Now the time has come.
iOS 16 is set to be released in the fall, coinciding with new hardware like the "iPhone 14," and will bring a host of new features and other improvements. As you'd expect from a milestone release, the changes are far-reaching, covering everything from the home screen to the apps within the mobile operating system. Apple continues its push to protect user privacy and security in the latest version. If you're not a registered Apple Developer and don't want to become one, or if you'd rather wait for a more mature beta version, the iOS 16 Public Beta might be just the thing for you.
iOS 16 Public Beta is launched
Apple has now started releasing the first public betas of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and Co. so that everyone can enjoy the new features. If you are interested in the iOS 16 beta test but are not familiar with it, you can read our article on the subject below.
Important beta note:
As usual, a preview should not be installed on an actively used device, as these are usually quite unstable and prone to errors - we recommend a second device for this.
