One of the new features of iOS 16 is the ability to edit and un-send messages in iMessage before they've been sent. However, as we've previously reported, these features aren't backwards compatible - meaning that edits won't affect devices running iOS 15. With iOS 16 Beta 2, Apple seems to be trying to fix this problem.
Users of the latest iOS 16 beta have noticed that Apple has changed the behavior of edited messages for devices running earlier iOS versions. When one user edits a message sent via iMessage on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 16, other users receive a new version of the message marked "Edited." Of course, this isn't as seamless as when both users are running iOS 16 (since the app replaces the old message with the new one).

But it is better than not receiving the edited message at all. Unfortunately, Apple has not yet found a way to recover unsent messages from devices running iOS 15 or earlier. versions This means that even if you delete a message on a device running iOS 16, it will still be available to iMessage users who have not updated their devices to the latest version of the operating system.
