Apple announced today that iOS 16.3 will be available to iPhone users next week and will bring with it several new features and improvements.
In one press releaseIn its announcement today that new Apple Watch bands were announced, Apple noted that iOS 16.3 will be available next week as a prerequisite for a new iOS 16 wallpaper. In addition to iOS 16.3, we also expect the release of iPadOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3, and probably tvOS 16.3 and macOS 13.2.
The Unity 2023 watch face will be available starting next week and requires Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 9.3, and iPhone 8 or later and iPhone SE (2nd generation) or later with iOS 16.3.
The new Unity iPhone lock screen wallpaper will also be available next week and requires an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.3.
iOS 16.3 focuses on bug fixes
Compared to iOS 16.2, iOS 16.3 offers few new features and instead focuses mainly on fixing bugs. Below we have highlighted some of the new features in iOS 16.3.
- Support for security keys for Apple IDs
- Redesigned HomePod Handoff Prompt after the release of a new second-generation HomePod
- Changed wording for the emergency call in the settings
