Apple launched a new beta phase on Tuesday evening and released iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and macOS Ventura 13.1, among others. All three versions introduce Apple's brand new Freeform app.
Freeform is a digital canvas app that allows iPhone, iPad and Mac users to work together in real time. When the app was launched at WWDC 2022 presented Elizabeth Reid, Senior Engineer Applications at Apple, commented:
There are so many great ways to collaborate, but until now there was no place to work as a group to plan projects, do home renovations, or do school projects. Now you can FaceTime and with a tap you're all collaborating live on a Freeform board. You can add almost anything to a board. It's perfect for brainstorming sessions, taking notes, sharing files, or even creating diagrams. When others add their thoughts, you can see their cursor, showing you where they're working. And if someone is in a different part of Freeform, you can tap to jump right to where they are on the board.
Freeform launches on iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 & macOS Ventura 13.1
Multiple people can contribute images, notes, doodles, documents, web links, PDFs, and more, with the added content visible to everyone.

The Freeform app from Apple is designed for the Apple Pencil on the iPad and can be used with FaceTime for visual feedback between the Freeform participants. Since iOS 16.2 and Co. are only at the beginning of the beta phase It will take some time before the new versions are made available to all users. However, it is expected that the new updates will be launched later this year. (Image: Apple)
