Apple has now distributed the iOS 16.1 release candidate to developers ahead of the update's release next week. Apple's update description confirms that iOS 16.1 includes shared iCloud library, the ability to share keys in the Wallet app across apps like Messages and WhatsApp, and more.
iCloud Shared Library makes it easier to share photos with family or friends in the Photos app. It lets you and up to five other people add, edit, or remove photos in a shared library accessible through iCloud – more about it here. iOS 16.1 also brings support for Live Activity in third-party apps, an option to charge with clean energy in the US, support for Matter accessories in the Home app, Apple Fitness+ workouts without an Apple Watch, support for Dynamic Island reachability, bug fixes for the Messages app, using a VPN with CarPlay, and more. Apple will make iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16.1, macOS 13 Ventura, tvOS 16.1, and watchOS 9.1 free to all users on October 24 provide. Below you will find the update description in full.
