Apple has now released iOS 16.1 Beta 2 for registered developers. The battery percentage display has been revised once again.
The new battery percentage indicator was controversial. Many users criticized the design because it showed a full battery symbol with the percentage inside. The problem with this is this: Even when the battery was at 90%, 70% or 50% - the battery symbol remained static and gave the impression that the battery was full. A movement into the red area only occurred when the battery dropped below 20%.

iOS 16.1 Beta 2: Apple makes the battery percentage display dynamic
With iOS 16.1 Beta 2 the battery symbol is no longer shown as full if it is not actually at 100 %. Instead, the design adapts dynamically to your current battery life. The percentage is shown within the battery symbol as before. The new design also has a larger font than before. When your iPhone is charging, the lightning symbol no longer appears as soon as you have reached 100 %. Since I still have a full battery on my test device, I unfortunately cannot attach a screenshot. (Image: Apfelpatient)
