In iOS 16, Apple integrated the battery percentage icon on iPhones with Face ID to show the exact battery percentage instead of just a visual representation of the battery level. Now the feature has been expanded in iOS 16.1.
At launch, this feature was not available on the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR, or iPhone 11. But according to a report (via MacRumors), the feature is now also available on these devices under iOS 16.1.
iOS 16.1: The battery percentage display is now also available on other Face ID devices
On iPhones equipped with Face ID, the battery indicator was missing in iOS 15 due to a lack of space on either side of the notch that houses the TrueDepth camera hardware.

But with the updated design of iOS 16, Apple adds the specific battery percentage indicator to the battery icon so that you can see the battery status at a glance. With the iOS 16.1 update, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 users can also benefit from the feature. (Image: Apfelpatient)
