Apple officially rolled out iOS 15 and Co. to all users on Monday evening. Now there are increasing reports that AirTags stored in "Find My" are no longer visible. Let's take a closer look at the whole thing.
A bug in iOS 15 appears to remove AirTags or prevent them from appearing in the Find My app. Some users report that they can add the AirTag again after resetting their device to factory settings. In fact, these reports in various forums - including in our own community. My recommendation to you: As soon as you have installed iOS 15, open "Find My" and make sure that your AirTags are still visible in the app. I cannot confirm the problem myself, but that doesn't mean anything.
Help, my AirTags are gone
But what do you do if they are actually gone? Assuming that your AirTags have disappeared, you need to proceed as follows. Every AirTag that is missing must be reset to the factory settings. Only then can you add it back to "Find My". You can find out how this works in my tip. Just this much in advance - it is a disgusting process, after all, I tried it myself.
How widespread the problem actually is remains to be seen for now. Based on current knowledge, it can affect anyone. At least there is no pattern to be seen, except for the fact that iOS 15 is required. In any case, anyone who has the new operating system installed should definitely check their "Find My" app. Apple has since released the first preview of iOS 15.1. However, iOS 15.0.1 could be released by the time the new version is made available to everyone - we know Apple. The patch could solve this problem and fix another bug related to incorrect storage reports. Are you looking for suitable AirTag cases? Then take a look at Amazon.
