Apple sent an email to developers today informing them that a handful of Siri commands are no longer supported. When users invoke these commands through Siri for a supporting app in iOS 15 or later, Siri will simply respond that the request cannot be processed.
To the affected areas include ride booking, configuring vehicles with Siri via CarPlay, and third-party photo search. Many of these SiriKit intents were introduced when support for third-party Siri was first added to the system in iOS 10. Why it is being removed now is unknown. At least, Apple has not given a reason so far. Since the first implementation of SiriKit, Apple has built shortcuts into iOS that can be invoked via Siri using keywords. However, interacting with the native SiriKit intents has always been more sophisticated and supported a much wider range of natural language input.
iOS 15 SiriKit: Low acceptance could be the reason for this step
The most likely explanation for why Apple is ending support for these intents is that developer adoption was low and customers simply didn't use them very often. Siri commands that are no longer supported on iOS 15 include all car configuration options for compatible CarPlay vehicles, visual QR support, all ride booking features, paying bills, photo search, and select to-do list commands such as attaching to a note, deleting a task, or creating a new to-do list.
