Among all the new features that Apple introduced with iOS 15 and macOS 12 Monterey, there are also some interesting new features in the Notes app. However, there is something to note here, at least for beta testers.
The new features in the Notes app make it more advanced for group collaboration overall, and also easier to organize and find your notes. For example, users can now mention other people in shared notes anywhere in the text using the @ sign and the collaborator's name. Apple has also finally added tagging support, so you can add tags to your text and then easily find it through a new interface. There is one small thing to note about compatibility with older versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, though.
iOS 15 & macOS 12 Notes: There is an exception
If the Notes app detects a device in your iCloud account running a version older than iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, or macOS Big Sur 11.3, it will warn you that tagged notes or mentions are not available on those devices. Interestingly, the latest versions of iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur are partially compatible with these features. So iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, and macOS 11.3. Both iOS 15 and macOS 12 Monterey are currently available in beta for developers and regular users enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program. The final versions of these updates According to Apple, they will be released in the fall as usual. (Photo by nikkimeel / Bigstockphoto)
